Readings

A totem is an object or animal believed to have spiritual significance that is adopted by a clan, family, or tribe to serve as an emblem.  Animal totems represent different aspects of our personalities.

Each individual has a unique set of totem animals. These animals line up with the chakra centers on the body, and determine the type of personality that you have formed for this incarnation.  A person has seven chakras on the body, and therefore seven totem animals stacked on top of one another (creating your own personal totem pole) which create the imprint of the personality.

Understanding the animals that dominate our chakra centers allows us to better understand ourselves.  Though there are no "bad" totem animals, each creature has specialized strengths, and specific challenges to face.  Where an animal is placed within your totem also presents an additional set of benefits and challenges. The location of an animal, for example the wolf, in your sacral center/ chakra will play out differently than having the wolf located in another center, such as your throat center.

There is an unseen energy field surrounding and permeating every living being.  This energy field is the scaffolding for our physical body.  To get an idea of how this works, first, picture the body as a complex system of electrical currents.  These currents run throughout our body, intersecting and crossing each other at various points and junctures.  The places where these currents intersect and touch the most are called chakras.  The human body has seven major chakra centers.  Each chakra, or center, vitalizes its related nerve center, endocrine gland/s, internal organ sytem/s, and circulatory system.  When the currents in your body are flowing correctly, and the chakras are "charged" with just the right amount of energy, you experience optimum health both emotionally and physically. Sometimes the currents in our body become blocked, and can stop flowing correctly.  When a person experiences too much or too little energy in a chakra disease or emotional turmoil can manifest as the end result.  Areas that are weak or congested can be balanced to bring an individual's energy field to a more flowing, healthy, and harmonious state.

Our totem animals are our guides and teachers.  When we bring them into balance within ourselves we are able to utilize their gifts to achieve our full potential.  Understanding the placement and connection of these animals, and how they relate to our energetic selves grants us the freedom to transform our lives by accepting and merging peacefully with our personalities.

As children some of us were pushed and prompted to be things that went against ourselves.  We may have buried certain personality traits, attempted to highlight others, and even agonized that we were not born with completely different personalities.  When others bullied us, and pulled our wings, we may have decided that they were right.  We may have let our wings be torn.  Parts of us were permitted to shrivel instead of flourish, and we settled into half lives and did the best we could.

To not know the self is the greatest misfortune.  When we fight our true nature we do ourselves a grievous disservice.  We may all wish to me mighty mountain lions, but this is not something that can be forced.  However, the gentle deer is absolutely as important as the lion.  The ant is as crucial to the makeup of our planet as the elk.  A chattering squirrel must be valued just as highly as a silent lynx.  Understanding totem is understanding exactly why you are amazing just for being you.
During a totem session we will determine which animals are located in the seven centers on your physical body.  I will give you an understanding of each individual animal's character, how it influences the center it dominates, and then I will explain how your totem animals relate to one another.  Animals that are out of balance will be brought back into harmony, and gently merged with their center.

Here is the animal spirit deck that I use

I also use a traditional tarot deck as well for those who don't quite resonate with the animal spirit deck.  First time readings (either totem or tarot) are quite lengthy, running between two and three hours.  This is an in depth personality mapping similar to having a star chart done with a professional astrologer.  First time readings are seven cards, and will correspond with the centers/chakras on the body.  The cost for these initial readings is $120.  Subsequent readings generally run about an hour in length, and are $60.  With all readings, when the reading is finished a chakra balancing is included to bring balance to the centers.

I offer distance sessions for those who are not local.  These may be done through facebook messenger, email, skype, or zoom.  Payments are accepted via paypal or credit card.

Contact me directly at didi_paul@rocketmail.com with any questions regarding these sessions.
